Train Time Poetry

Just want to share what I do during my long commute. I find that I am best inspired while waiting for the train to arrive. So, here is one of my creations written (or typed) as I travel from work to home:

Undisciplined

i think of you when i shouldn't
i dream of you when i'm awake
i call your name in the wind
i see your face in the stars.

each passing hour is filled
with memories of your smile
and the day does not end
without your shadow in my mind.

i remember, i dream
of the sunset we've shared
your lips soft as cherry
sweet as ice cream in a summer day.

i hear your voice in the breeze
i hear you whispering my name
i hope for many things
that i know will never be.

i've told myself to stop
my own limit i have broken
i wrote rules i didn't follow
for you, my heart is undisciplined.

i think of you when i shouldn't
i hope for you, though we couldn't be
in my loneliness, i dream of us
and of what would have been.

Boracay part 2: The interiors of Boracay

Hi! So here's part 2 of 3 about my recent trip: The interiors (and architecture) of Boracay! This took a while because I had to sort through (and edit) hundreds of photos! Image heavy post ahead ~

Boracay part 1: The patterns of Shangri-La.

Hello. Life got in the way of blogging, but thanks to Ruth for posting in September! Good luck with the board exams ~ the whole team is cheering on you! Anyway...

I went to Boracay with my family a few weeks ago. It was actually my first time on this world famous island - due to my irrational reason of exploring the other 7016 islands of the Philippines before I go here HAHAHA. But my Aunt persuaded me on going by saying that we're going to stay in a particular resort : Shangri-la Boracay. I checked the resort online for the interiors and WOW - I'm sold!

In my first attempt as a travel "pau-tographer", here are the photos I took of the different patterns I saw in Shangri-la Boracay:

Cast 12: Cathartis

I love supporting the local comics industry, so I buy whatever comic I chanced upon in National bookstore back then. That's where I found Cast.
Cast goodie bag.
Cast is a local comic series about a group of high school students from an all boys and all girls school collaborating together for the play "Camelot". One of the main characters is Will Flores who plays Lancelot who's in love with King Arthur's wife Guinevere, who is played by Ces Cheng, whom Will is in love with. But Ces is already dating Manny, the one who plays King Arthur in the play. But there is so much more to the story than that. You just have to read it yourselves to know~ (To thychronicles, I have an extra set of Cast comics I can lend to you!)

Relaxation Time at HCC Spa

Last weekend, my mother and I had a little mother-daughter bonding time. We went to a spa at West Ave., Quezon City called HCC Spa. It was a small space, just renting a unit in a building, but the interior is nice and the services are quite OK.

There were several packages available which includes massage, scrub, foot spa, facial and more. Mama and I opted to have a simple one-hour, full body massage for only Php 299. Since it was a Monday, they have fewer staff to accommodate the customers (they have more staff on weekends), so we had to wait an hour before we can be attended by a masseuse. The wait was not that boring. We had to shower (to remove dust from the travel) and we also had a few minutes in the steam room.

SIMS 4

EA recently released a new version of the popular game, The Sims 4. I've been following a Sims game fan named Curtis Paradis, at his Youtube channel "TheCurtisParadisShow" and he, and a lot of others, seem excited about this new development.

Some trailers of the game were released by the producers showing how the actual game play would be. One great development in the game is the Create-A-Sim. Now, we can have even more control in manipulating our character's designs. No more scroll bars! We just have to grab the part of the sim we want to modify (i.e. nose) and, just push and pull to the desired size and shape. And it's not just the physical aspect, we can also modify the personality, attitude and voice to create a truly unique individual.

As for the build/buy mode, I was a bit disappointed in the game play which I saw in Curtis' videos. They removed the Create A Style, but they did put catalogs and ready-to-use rooms. Some furniture are also available in different colors, so we still have choices in the design. As for the architectural aspect, there are now curved walls available. Yay! Also, we can change the height, not only of the walls, but also the foundation. This way, we can create more styles for our buildings, so I guess I would be satisfied with that. Hopefully, they'll add more options in the patches and expansion packs.

Anyway, I don't have the game yet. I don't even have a new computer yet. But I love watching the trailers and the game plays that other players posted online. Maybe, I will be one of them someday. For now, I am happy with my Sims3 game which distracts me from my stressful schedule. I have created a very complicated family, so that would keep me busy for a while.

For those who want to see The Sims 4 game play, here is the trailer from TheSims youtube channel.

He also creates houses in The Sims 3 and has multiple blogs about the world of Sims games.

Happy Simming!!

Blue Paradise

I don't travel that much. I prefer to just stay at home and read a good book with a cup of coffee. But once in a while, it's nice to go out the house and see the beauty of nature.

To relieve stress, my family and I have one go-to vacation spot just 2-3 hours away from Manila (depending on the traffic): Ocean Villas, Puerto Azul.

For those who don't know, Puerto Azul is found at the edge of Cavite. It's a subdivision (for lack of better word) of privately owned vacation houses. What delights me and makes me come back to this place is the idea of living on the mountain slope - the units are all built following the natural inclination of the mountain.

Coffee Empire

Today, I met up with Hannah at Coffee Empire. I was supposed to blog about this place last week when I met up with Ruth, but I unfortunately left my digicam at home! So this time around, I made sure that I brought it with me.

Recent fashion finds

Hi! Just wanted to announce that the 10a Alabama fair has been postponed until further notice due to the bad weather in Metro Manila moved to August 2-3! You could click here for updates :)

Anyway, I went to Fishermall today to buy some clothes. (I will not be posting said clothes here - they are just basic colored items that I need for work :p). What I will be posting are the 2 out of 4 designs of their canvass bags because of the pretty print. They reminded me so much of Cath Kidston prints ~.
Bag # 1 - taken inside my messy room HAHA.

The 10A Alabama affair.

It all started back in 2012 when I attended art events in Cubao X. First was the May 2012 "Hello Sailor" exhibit at Heima featuring 2 of my favorite artists: Tokwa and Soleil Ignacio. Second was the "Bloom Arts Festival" during September 2012. Being the stalker fan that I am, I started following the facebook pages of these artists and organizers. That's where I saw the 10a Alabama arts fair event post. A few weeks later, the gang (except for Hannah and Roselle) went to our first 10a Alabama fair.

Welcome to 10a Alabama!

An introduction - by P.

Hello. We are Thychronicles!
We have finally made a blog! Here in this blog will we post about our interests - mainly about art, as our group of friends all graduated from the same university and course. We have various interests - from crafts, fashion, poetry, drawing, travel, and interior design. But I don't think of this as only an art blog. I hope we could expand on other topics as well!

(Sorry for the grammar. Its been a while since I've blogged ~).
I really hope we could make this blog an interesting place. And keep it updated!
I'm still tinkering with the layout. We need to discuss the final layout / design of this HAHA.
